PMA Indonesia (Penanaman Modal Asing) or PT PMA (Perseroan Terbatas Penanaman Modal Asing) is also known as a Foreign Owned Company. This is a form of legal entity created under the Indonesian Law in which foreign investors can choose to conduct business in Indonesia to generate revenues or profit.

Director; a foreigner can become a director in a PT PMA and get the stay permits, otherwise known as the KITAS.
Commissioner; the commissioner can be either a local citizen or a foreigner. The main duty of a commissioner is to supervise and monitor the work of the directors in the company and to ensure that every activity commenced by the company is in order and in coherence with the objectives of the company.
The minimum authorised and paid-up capital requirement to start a PT PMA must be over IDR 10 billion or roughly USD 700,000. The paid-up capital does not have to be fully in cash. Business assets can be shown as Investment, except land and buildings. For Real estate businesses, land and buildings can be shown as investments.
